HNC Admissions Student Assistant Position
Job Description
The Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC) Washington Office is hiring an Admissions Student Assistant for the 2021-2022 academic year. This role will work closely with the HNC Washington Office Director to assist with prospective student communications, social media and blog content, and other administrative duties.
Responsibilities
Assist with HNC prospective student communications via email, Zoom, and other platforms.
Participate in virtual information sessions with prospective students, conduct admissions interviews with HNC applicants, and moderate admitted student Facebook groups.
Write blog posts for HNC blog about your experiences as an HNC student, including academics, student life, events, etc. Conduct interviews with alumni, current students, and faculty for HNC blog and SAIS website. Must submit at least one blog post per month.
Develop and submit at least one social media post per week.
Assist with various database management projects, such as HNC alumni database, as needed.
Attend bi-weekly check-ins with HNC Admissions Student Manager.
May be asked to assist with HNC event support.
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Ability to share experiences with HNC community and prospective students in a professional manner.
Ability to work well with a team.
Willingness to independently develop and carry out engaging social media and blog content.
Flexible schedule to assist with occasional afterhours events and information sessions.
Strong writing skills are required.
Must be enrolled as an HNC student for the entirety of the 2021-2022 academic year.
Must have completed and submitted FAFSA form by the time of application.
Previous admissions experience preferred.
Previous communications and/or blogging experience preferred.
Time Commitment
Maximum of 10 hours per week at the SAIS student worker rate of $15.20/hour
