Teaching Assistants: Introducation to ERE (Gateway) with Prof. John Banks Position
Professor Banks is hiring (1-2) teaching assistants for ERE’s fall 2020 Intro to ERE (Gateway) course, SA.680.680. Qualified candidates should have completed the Gateway course in their first year and preferably have some work experience in the energy and environment field. Successful candidates must have the confidence to assist students with assignments in a variety of fields related to energy and environment, possibly including oil, gas, or electricity, water, transportation, pollution, industry and agriculture, and economic development.
The TA’s main responsibilities include (i) teaching 1 or 2 TA review sessions per week (ii) attending weekly class sessions (Mondays, 10a-12p), (iii) holding office hours for 1 hour per week to assist students, and (iv) assisting Prof. Banks in the grading of the assignments for the class, including policy briefs, case studies, and the 5-page take-home exam.Students will be paid $15/hour for the duration of the work period.
